Great Moments in Semiotics: Ikea Edition
Having just inherited a crapton of Ikea baby furniture, I noticed this particularly clever graphic in the crib instructions. I defy you to find a more elegant graphic to connote the differences in the appropriate height setting for your infant as compared to your toddler.

Look! It’s the first picture of my child!
Genetic Counselor: ”You’re amniocentesis results are normal.”
Us: ”Great news! Can we have a copy of the karyotype”
This stumped the poor woman for a moment. Turns out that due to the low frequency of biology teacher couples that come in for an amnio, the labs don’t even send the karyotype to the clinic. They just send a letter saying everything is all good.
But the lab was kind enough to mail us a copy.
